This site is operated by Lake Missoula Ventures LLC. "Ares" is a trade and brand name of Lake Missoula Ventures LLC. By using the site or joining the waitlist you agree to these terms.

The waitlist

Joining the waitlist is free and is not a purchase. It records your place in line and does not guarantee product availability, a delivery date, or a price. First-batch pricing (the first 25 builds at $3,500, 30% off the $5,000 list price) describes our current intent and may change until a deposit is accepted. When deposits open, waitlist members are offered slots in order.

Deposits and builds (when they open)

Deposits are refundable until you submit your build questionnaire. Once submitted, your build slot locks, the deposit becomes non-refundable, and it is credited in full to your balance. The waitlist is open to US residents, and Ares is available for shipment to addresses in the continental United States only. Your unit ships within 90 days of your locked order or we refund you in full. Exact component makes and models may vary with availability; every build meets or exceeds its listed specification, and your final configuration is confirmed with you before your build begins.

Information, not advice

Ares Box provides offline reference material and AI-generated assistance. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or emergency services. AI systems can produce errors. Verify critical information and seek professional help when it is available. You are responsible for how you use the information the product provides.

Open-source software

Ares Box incorporates open-source software, including the Project NOMAD platform (Apache 2.0). Those components remain governed by their own licenses.

Warranties and liability

Any hardware warranty will be stated at the time of purchase. Except as expressly stated there, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the site and product are provided "as is," we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Intellectual property

Site content, the Ares name, and associated branding belong to Lake Missoula Ventures LLC. Don't reuse them without permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Lake Missoula Ventures LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
